IR Director
Client / Mandate complexity
The level of scrutiny on this hire was exceptionally high. The client needed to de-risk the appointment in every respect, so the process involved extensive due diligence across skills, track record, and motivation. It was important that the final decision was based on a complete and well-tested view of the candidate.
Key requirements
We needed to source an IR Director who had independently mastered a second language from the ground up.
Constraints or sensitivities
The process required a high level of detail and rigour. We designed a tailored assessment approach, ensuring the client had a thorough view of the candidate’s capabilities, track record, and fit before making a final decision.
Market mapping and intelligence
The pool of candidates was very limited, given the need for language capability, experience in the lower mid-market, and a defined compensation range.
Candidate evaluation process
There were good candidates in the market, but the brief called for someone exceptional within a much narrower talent pool. This required extensive research and careful judgement, with our delivery team going well beyond a standard search to identify the right individuals. A key part of the process was giving the client confidence in the shortlist, while maintaining momentum with candidates over several months and keeping them engaged throughout the search.
